Elizabeth Selby, MA, LPCC
I’ve always been fascinated by people—their stories, their patterns, and the ways they navigate life—which is why I absolutely love what I do. I also get a front row seat to seeing people become more comfortable with themselves and confident in the life they want.
I grew up on the Gulf Coast of Alabama, and that background shaped the way I relate to people and approach connection—it taught me to be approachable, grounded, and hospitable. I’n 2011 I graduated with a Bachelors in Counseling and later pursued a Graduate Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In between, I’ve lived many lives: a barista, an Airbnb host, and an artist (I still do art-making). I’ve been married since 2012 and my husband and I have both experienced individual and couple’s therapy, so we know the courage it takes to show up in this space. Oh and this little pup here is our therapy dog, Freud. He often comes to sessions and is very empathic!
The clients I work best with are typically thoughtful, introspective, and curious about themselves—and maybe sometimes overthink. Clients who have a lot of understanding, but still have a hard time with the change part, or still feel stuck in the same emotions. They often have spent a lot of time understanding why they feel the way they do and are now wanting something more embodied, relational, or emotionally transformative.
If anything here resonates, give me a holler—I’d love to hear from you.
